When we get something wrong, we say so here and leave it up, because a site that asks you to trust its numbers should show you the ones it got wrong.

18 August 2026Jacky Rosen—donor listLifePoint Health, a hospital operator, was captioned as “the financial firm’s PAC.” Its filed name contains the word “subsidiaries,” and our matching read the letters U-B-S inside it as the bank UBS. The caption was wrong about what the company does; the $15,000 figure beside it was correct. The description no longer appears, and matching now requires a whole word rather than any run of letters.

18 August 2026Richard J. Durbin—industry breakdownA $5,000 contribution from TelevisaUnivision, a Spanish-language broadcaster, was counted under “Banking & finance,” because the letters V-I-S-A appear inside the company’s name and were read as the card network Visa. The amount and the donor name were right; the industry was not. It is now counted as unlabeled corporate money, which is what we show when we have not classified a donor.
